(NEW YORK and BOSTON) Aug. 1, 2005 Deutsche Bank and the Tiger Woods Foundation announced today that they have selected the Tiger Woods Learning Center and nine New England-area charities as beneficiaries of the 2005 Deutsche Bank Championship. The third-annual Deutsche Bank Championship, which in the past two years has generated $2.9 million for charity, is scheduled for Aug. 30 Sept. 5, 2005 at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Mass. The primary beneficiary of the Deutsche Bank Championship is the Tiger Woods Learning Center, with Agassiz Village, Boston Cares, Boston Ballet City Dance, Healthworks Foundation and Bottom Line returning as beneficiaries for the third consecutive year. The 2005 Deutsche Bank Championship also will benefit first-time recipients Artists for Humanity, G-Row Boston (Girls Row), St. Marys Women and Childrens Center and Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA). We are very proud of the legacy of charitable giving we are creating with the Deutsche Bank Championship, said Seth Waugh, CEO, Deutsche Bank Americas. We enjoy being known in the US and around the world for our charitable giving focused on children, education and organizations that serve distressed communities. "The Deutsche Bank Championship has played an important role in the development of the Tiger Woods Learning Center which I am excited to officially open in February 2006, said Woods. The championship has also enabled my Foundation to support a number of powerful youth-focused charitable organizations throughout New England. I am proud of our accomplishments and look forward to continued success in 2005. We have in partnership selected nine charities whose missions and philosophies are in line with that of the Tiger Woods Foundation and the Deutsche Bank Americas Foundation, said Executive Director Jay Monahan. Our collective goal is to support organizations that are determined to make a difference in the lives of children in the lower income population of our community as well as empowering young people to reach their highest potential by initiating and supporting community-based programs that promote the health, education and welfare of children. We believe that both of these efforts will help us build a stronger community. In addition, the Deutsche Bank Championship will be one of 35 PGA TOUR stops in the 2005 season featuring the Crestor Charity Challenge. Now in its second season, the Crestor Charity Challenge features a $100,000 donation each week half to the Championships charities and half to the health care charity of the winning players choice. By the end of the 2005 season, the Crestor Charity Challenge will have donated a total of $3.5 million to various healthcare charities in the United States.
