THE WEDGWOOD TROPHY

Wedgwood in England was delighted to receive the commission to design and manufacture the inaugural trophy for the Deutsche Bank Championship.

With over 250 years of heritage behind it, Wedgwood has used the company's unique and historic material - Jasper clay - in its famous pale blue color, using techniques dating back to the 1790's.

Standing over 18 inches high, it took Master craftsmen three weeks to complete the magnificent piece - with each delicate leaf ornament made and applied by hand and the Clubhouse scene carefuly hand painted on the face of the trophy in platinum and dark blue.

It has taken specialized skill and effort at Wedgwood to create the new Deutsche Bank Championship trophy - how appropriate that it will take such skill and effort to win it this week.
