YOUNG AUSTRALIAN SET COURSE RECORD IN WINNING INAUGURAL EVENT AT TOURNAMENT PLAYERS CLUB OF BOSTON LAST YEAR

Boston, Mass., June 2, 2004 Australias Adam Scott, who is on a fast track to stardom, is looking forward to defending his title in the Deutsche Bank Championship at the Tournament Players Club of Boston, Aug. 31 Sept. 6.

Scott, who shot a course-record 62 in the second round to set up last years victory, barely six weeks after his 23rd birthday, became one the youngest players ever to win on the PGA TOUR. With a long and powerful swing, reminiscent of Tiger Woods, Scott was being hailed as one of the sports future super stars.

Nothing has happened since to change that perception. He has four top-10 finishes in seven PGA TOUR events this year, including a victory in the prestigious Players Championship against the strongest field of the year, and a third-place finish at Bay Hill. Although he divides his time between the European and PGA tours, he has still earned more than $2 million to rank No. 7 on the PGA TOUR money list. He has two top-10 finishes in four European events this year, including a runner-up finish in the Heineken Classic.

Scott, who is now No. 12 on the Official World Ranking, has a strong support crew. He is coached by Butch Harmon and will have Tony Navarro, the long-time caddie for Greg Norman, on his bag beginning this month.

The young Australians ascent has been a fast one. Ranked the No. 2 amateur in the world before turning professional in June 2000, he acquired his European Tour card for 2001 in just eight starts as a professional. He secured his first victory at the 2001 Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa and has since added three more titles. Last year he played on the International Team at the Presidents Cup where he was the youngest player in the event.

When he competes in the Championship, Scott will face another strong field which will include Woods, the No. 1 player in the world. The winner of the 72-hole tournament will earn $900,000.

Championship week for the Deutsche Bank Championship begins with practice rounds Tuesday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 1, and a pro-am competition on Thursday, September 2.  The four-day Championship begins Friday, September 3, and continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 6the only official Monday finish on the PGA TOUR. The first two rounds of the Championship will be covered on USA Network and the final two rounds will be televised on ABC-TV.

Fans are urged to purchase tickets early for the $5 million tournament because tickets are going fast and another sellout is expected. A year ago, the daily and weekly tickets sold out one month prior to the Championship.

Tickets, which are being sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, can be purchased by visiting the official Championship website at www.deutschebankchampionship.com or by calling TicketMaster at (866) GOLF-TIX or visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are limited to 10 tickets per person. Advance ticket prices will be in effect until June 1, or until the event is sold out. Attendance at the Deutsche Bank Championship will be limited to 25,000 people per day.
