TWI Interactive Teams With Westminster Kennel Dog Show to Provide Streaming Video on the Show's Website
2/14/05 3:20

In a groundbreaking partnership, TWI Interactive (TWIi), the interactive media arm of IMGs television division, TWI, will team up with the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, one of Americas oldest and most prestigious sporting events, to provide exclusive streaming video coverage of the 2005 show, to be held Monday and Tuesday, February 14-15, at Madison Square Garden in New York.  It is the first time broadband video of the show will be produced worldwide.

In addition to USA Networks television coverage, highlights of the competition among the 165 breeds and varieties during the two days of the show will be shot using handheld cameras and posted on streaming video on the Westminster website (www.westminsterkennelclub.org).

TWIi, USA Interactive and the Westminster Kennel Club will work together to shoot, edit, encode and post broadband clips of each Best of Breed winner.  The clips will be available to fans on-line within just two hours of the showing and judging and will be updated and posted throughout the day for the first time ever.

This is a great opportunity for us to work with USA Interactive and Westminster on such an innovative and exciting program, said Russell Quy, TWIi executive producer.  TWIi has the unique capability to combine production, asset management, interactive distribution and design in a rapid turnaround time frame, so this is the perfect project for us.

We're excited about this venture and we're thrilled to have TWIi as our partners in making it a success for all concerned, said David Frei, President of the Westminster Dog Club.

The streaming video is sponsored by DreamWorks Animation SKG and will be hosted by Gromit, the canine half of the clay-animated duo Wallace & Gromit.  A Wallace & Gromit feature length film opens Oct. 7, 2005.
